Do not let your phone embarrasses you.

Mobile phones are electronic gargets that are widely used for communication. Some people are phones addict in that, they hardly do without them. A small distance away from it is like having not seen your partner for years. Phones are good for easy communication; you can get in touch with your dear ones in far places. However, phones are also annoying when not properly used at a right time and in right places.

I was attending a meeting with my colleague. As the meeting was intensifying and everybody was attentive; her phone rang at a deafening sound that almost shook the whole building. She stood up and hurriedly walked out to answer her phone call. Worst of it all, her high hill shoes also made noise as she dashed out.

She came back and everyone in the hall turned to her direction with frowning face. She hanged her head in shame and sat motionless for the rest of the meeting, I patted her shoulder to assurance her not to mind about it but should be careful next time. It’s much better to know when and where to use your mobile phone.

Be aware of sacred places

Churches and mosques are Holy places where phones use should be limited. You can switch the cell phone to vibration mode if you can not help switching it off completely. Use that little time to communicate to your God and don’t be disturbed your callers. Make it a rule to whoever calls you that your phone will not be on for such a period of time.

When Moses saw a burning bush; God told him to remove his sandals because he was standing on a Holy ground. I think if he had a phone, God would told him to switch off his phone too; unfortunately there were no phones that time.

Observe the banks rules.

It is also a rule in banks that, whoever enters the bank should switch off his/her phone. If you don’t read the words; you can see a sign of a mobile phone drawn on a teller’s counter and a red sign across it. I am not quite sure why phones should be switched off in banks. But I think it must be because of interfering with business transaction and not to distract others. It could also be because banks are usually targeted by robbers; perhaps it is the fear of thugs who may disguise themselves as bank customers and attack bakers.

Lecture rooms in Universities are important.

Unlike in high school where students are restricted to use phones, University students are allowed to use phones. Having no access to phones in secondary schools; students in Universities love using phones even in lecture rooms.

Certain gentleman’s phone rang in a lecture room; he fumbled into his pocket trying to remove it. After having denied the call; he looked at me and sweat was oozing out of his pores. He kept on wiping his face in order to compose himself, so uncomfortable that he was not able to understand what the lecturer was talking about. He was disappointed the whole day and didn’t want to talk to anyone.

Finally, know how to answer phone calls.

This is a very important area that should be scrutinized well. Some people answer the phone calls and speak as loud as one could not imagine. I sometimes wonder why they use phone; they should rather talk without phone if they think they are loud enough to reach their correspondents. Others talk to their love ones in romantic voices even when they are in publics. It is better to avoid using words like sweetie, honey or darling in pubic places. While one enjoys his/her freedom, it is worthwhile not to interfere with freedom of others. Just excuse your self and answer your call and use all those sorts of names in a private place, privacy are important especially where matters of love are concerned. Do not let your phone be the cause of embarrassments to you in public, control your machine and stay happy.
